Dear Kindergarten Families,

We are excited to share some wonderful news about our Kindergarten program in the Alta Loma School District. Starting in 2025-2026, we will be transitioning to a full-day Kindergarten model. This change reflects our commitment to providing the best possible educational experience for your child.

Why Full-Day Kindergarten?

Research shows that full-day Kindergarten programs offer significant benefits for young learners. With more time in the classroom, students can:

  • Engage in deeper and more meaningful learning experiences.

  • Develop stronger foundational skills such as reading, writing, and math.

  • Participate in a broader range of hands-on, exploratory activities.

  • Build social and emotional skills through additional collaborative opportunities.

What to Expect in a Full-Day Program

Our full-day Kindergarten will include:

  • Expanded Learning Opportunities: More time for academic instruction, creative projects, and enrichment activities.

  • Balanced Daily Schedule: A mix of structured learning, play, and mindfulness to support your child’s development.

  • Enhanced Social Interaction: Additional time to build friendships and practice important social skills.

  • Additional Resources: Access to a variety of learning materials and support to meet the needs of every child.

Details About the Transition

The full-day Kindergarten class hours will align with the other grade levels. School will begin at 8:10 and dismissal will take place at 2:40.  Lunch and recess will remain a part of the schedule.

We are confident that this transition will create a nurturing and enriching environment for your child to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our dedicated teachers and staff are already planning engaging activities and lessons to make the most of the extended learning time.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to embarking on this exciting new chapter together. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the school office at 909 484 5060.
