Dear Vineyard Families,

Welcome to the second semester, Viking Families! I cannot believe we are here already. We have made some great memories and strides since August including fun and successful volleyball, football, and soccer seasons, progress in our Math and Literacy/Reading i-Ready scores, establishing our school culture with so many new Vikings joining us, and continuing many of our wonderful traditions like our Veteran’s Day assembly, theatre performances, Winter concerts, and recognizing our PBIS and Vikings of the Week! Our sixth graders went to camp in December and had a wonderful time.

Students will continue to participate in i-Ready lessons as this program supports them in their individual learning needs and propels them to success in their CAASPP state assessments. All of our teachers are working hard to prepare students not only for state testing, but for the next school year. We start our CAASPP testing in April, shortly after we return from spring break. While our school and our district have some of the highest scores in our county, and even our state, there is still much room to grow! Our goal is always to show growth so we know our students are learning, retaining, and ready to move on to the next grade level. Our basketball season has just started and we are excited to see our Vikings on the court. Track is up next! 

As much as we love just being in the moment with our current students, we are beginning to plan for the 2025/2026 school year as we will continue adding 6th graders to our campus and potentially offer some new elective courses. Of course, we are also planning all of our year end events for our current 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. Many students will attend camp and many more will participate in field trips and special events at school. Please review our handbook and communications regarding the timelines and criteria to support your child in participating in as much as possible. We value your support and we look forward to finishing this school year strong!
